Terms & Conditions

These terms govern the appliance repair and installation services provided by Best Appliance Repairs and Installations across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

Last updated: July 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to all services, quotes, bookings, repairs, and installations provided by Best Appliance Repairs and Installations ("we," "us," or "our") to any customer ("you"). By booking a service call, requesting a quote, or allowing our technician to begin work, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not book our services.

2. Services we provide

We provide diagnosis, repair, and installation of household and light-commercial appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves, ovens, ranges, cooktops, dishwashers, microwaves, range hoods, and similar appliances. Services are offered in Toronto and surrounding areas of the Greater Toronto Area, subject to availability.

3. Service call & diagnostic fee

A standard service call and diagnostic fee of $95 + HST applies to most appliances ($129 + HST for high-end, built-in, or premium brands). This fee covers the technician's travel and on-site diagnosis. As a courtesy, the service-call fee is waived when you approve the recommended repair within 7 days and we complete the work. The fee is charged if you decline the repair, if the appliance is deemed unrepairable, or if no repair is performed.

4. Estimates & authorization

After diagnosis, we provide an upfront estimate covering parts and labour. No repair work beyond diagnosis is performed without your authorization. Estimates are valid for a limited period and may change if additional faults are found once work begins; any change will be communicated to you before we proceed.

5. Payment

Payment is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept the payment methods advised at the time of service. Prices are quoted in Canadian dollars and are subject to applicable taxes (HST). Special-order or non-stock parts may require a deposit before ordering.

6. Warranty

We stand behind our work. Eligible repairs are backed by a workmanship warranty of up to one (1) year on labour, and parts we supply are covered by the applicable manufacturer or supplier warranty. The warranty covers only the specific repair performed and the parts we installed. It does not cover:

  • New, unrelated faults or failures of other components;
  • Damage from misuse, accident, power surges, improper installation by others, pests, or lack of maintenance;
  • Customer-supplied parts, or repairs you decline to complete;
  • Normal wear, cosmetic issues, or appliances at or beyond their expected service life.

Warranty service requires proof of the original invoice. Tampering with a completed repair or service by a third party voids the warranty.

7. Parts

We use quality OEM or equivalent replacement parts where available. Some parts may be back-ordered or discontinued by the manufacturer, which can affect repair timelines; we will keep you informed. Special-order parts are generally non-refundable once ordered.

8. Scheduling, arrival windows & cancellations

Appointments are booked within arrival windows rather than exact times, as job durations vary. We make reasonable efforts to arrive within the agreed window but are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, prior jobs, or events beyond our control. Please give us reasonable notice to cancel or reschedule. A missed appointment or no-show where the technician arrives and cannot access the appliance may incur the service-call fee.

9. Your responsibilities

  • Provide safe, clear, and legal access to the appliance and a safe working environment;
  • Ensure the appliance is accessible, disconnected of personal items, and that pets are secured;
  • Disclose known hazards, prior repairs, or modifications to the appliance;
  • Be present (or have an authorized adult present) during the service visit.

10. Older & pre-existing conditions

Appliances that are old, heavily worn, previously repaired by others, or improperly installed carry inherent risk. In rare cases, dismantling for diagnosis or repair can reveal or worsen a pre-existing fault. We take reasonable care, but we are not responsible for failures attributable to the age or prior condition of the appliance.

11. Installations

Installation services include connecting and setting up appliances to applicable manufacturer instructions and standards. You are responsible for ensuring that existing electrical, plumbing, gas, venting, and structural conditions are adequate and to code. Where existing conditions are unsafe or non-compliant, we may decline to complete the installation until corrected. Gas connections requiring a licensed gas technician are performed only where we are authorized to do so.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including food spoilage, loss of use, or property damage not directly caused by our negligence. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded.

13. Refunds

Because our service involves labour and often special-order parts, refunds are handled case by case. If a completed repair fails within the warranty period due to our workmanship or a part we supplied, we will re-service it at no additional labour cost as our primary remedy. Diagnostic and completed-labour charges are generally non-refundable.

14. Privacy

We collect only the information needed to provide our services (such as your name, address, contact details, and appliance information) and use it to schedule, perform, and follow up on your service. We do not sell your personal information. Contact us to ask about the information we hold.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute will be subject to the courts of Ontario.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you book applies to your service. The current version is always posted on this page.
